MY EXOPAT MAT AND WHY I LOVE IT: If you have never tried an
Exopat mat, it's time you did. I was skeptical at first myself. A little cooking spray
and lots of elbow grease had worked before, why should I change?
Then my husband brought one home.....
|

The Exopat measures
11 3/4" x 16 1/2". It is made of a laminated sheet of rubberized food-grade silicone,
reinforced with a silicone-based woven fabric It is FDA and NSF approved and is made in France
|

My exopat arrived with very few instructions except that it can be used up to 3,000 times, provides even heat distribution and is effective for temperatures from -40 to 580 degrees |

My first experience with my
Exopat was with cookies.
Rather than use parchment paper
to line my cookie sheet I used
the Exopat I couldn't believe
how evenly the cookies baked
and how easily they came off
of the cookie sheet. There
were no messy
crumbs to scrub off! |

My second project was
a pork loin. I marinated the pork in apple juice, ginger and garlic all day. Then I put it on my Exopat lined
roasting pan and baked it for 45 minutes or so. No stick, no splatter, no mess. I just moved my pork loin to a cutting board and wiped off the Exopat with a warm soapy sponge, rinsed and put it away.
|

My third project was a roasted chicken. I prepared the chicken as I normally would, lots of fresh herbs and lemon inside and a butter/herb massage on the outside. I then plopped Mr. Chicken on my Exopat lined roasting pan and put him into the oven.
|

My chicken spent almost 2 hours in the oven. It came out golden brown, juicy and just look at the mat -- no burned spots. The chicken slid right off onto the cutting board. |

Long before the chicken was ready to carve, the Exopat mat was cleaned. I just used a warm soapy sponge to wipe it and then rinsed and dried -- 10 seconds, max.
|

Last week I used my Exopat when baking chicken pot pies for the kids. The usual bubbling over that makes a mess of my oven or baking sheet never occurred. Once again, I just wiped off the mat and put it away.
I also used it for a cheesy
hors d' oeuvre I made -- the cheese didn't stick! |
I also made toffee using my Exopat mat -- if you'd like the world's easiest toffee recipe and step by step instructions CLICK HERE
Now that I have one, I can't imagine baking without it. My time is too valuable to be spent scrubbing roasting pans and cookie sheets.
The 11 3/4" x 18" Exopat
