WHAT IS A DOBORD AND WHAT WOULD I DO WITH IT IF I HAD ONE?
I'm into anything that makes cookie baking easier -- I bake a lot of cookies. The Dobord
is truly amazing! It cuts the amount of time I spend rolling out cookies at least in half,
makes cleanup a breeze, and I no longer have cookies that are thin on one side and thick
on the other.
|
The Dobord is a 15 1/2" x 15 1/2" cutting
board with wooden frame that allows you
to set the thickness of your dough. You
can use it to cut your cookies, pizza, or
pies 1/8",1/4" 3/8" & 1/2" . It comes with it's
own nifty rolling pin.
|

The board has screws at one end that you remove to pull the board apart and adjust.
|

The edges of the board slide off the
tracks so you can adjust it to the thickness
you need. |

It's so easy, even I can do it. |

The instructions that come with the board
tell you to lightly flour the board before
rolling, but I put down parchment paper,
both below and on top of the dough before
I rolled -- cleanup is soooo much easier.
|

Then, just grab your new rolling pin and roll away -- you won't believe how fast it is!
|

In just seconds your dough is flat and
EVEN. Then, if your dough is cold go
ahead and cut it. If, like me, you roll
your dough straight from the mix master
you can slide the parchment paper onto a
cookie sheet and refrigerate it for
10-15 minutes before you cut it. Take
the scraps and start over. (Remember
that you can reuse parchment paper) |

My mittens are now perfectly cut, sitting
on my new Exopat Mat and ready to go into the oven.

Remember that these unique boards aren't just for cookies. They are perfect for pie and pizza crusts, and will make life so much easier when you're working on delicate pastries that you want to be perfect.
